S2E8 Good to Know DIY MASK MAKING

While do-it-yourself medical masks are not a substitute for their professionally made, high-grade counterparts, they do add a level of protection when you have to be out in public. All you need are three pieces of 6” by 9” cotton fabric, two pieces of ⅛ X 7” elastic, pins, some thread, and a needle. Lay two of the fabric pieces together with the outside layer on top, and pin the elastic to each end so that they form loops on both sides. Fold the loops on top of the fabric. Put the last piece of fabric on top of that, pin down, and sew all around, leaving a two-inch opening on one side. Be careful to only sew the ends of the elastic loops and not the loops themselves. Turn the masks right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening on the side. Now make pleats, pin and sew. You can see the Mask Tutorial
