JDS Creative Academy (JDSCA) and Spirit of Innovation are proud to announce that the SOI Update, a safety PSA produced by JDSCA job-training participants, and four segments from the magazine-style news show “Spirit of Innovation” won bronze Telly awards in the category of News Feature, and the Telly Awards’ newest category: Diversity and Inclusion. The theme of this season was “Telly Award Winners Tell Great Stories” and the #JDSFamily couldn’t be more honored to know that their work is a reflection of this theme.
With its proximity to major metropolitan areas of Los Angeles and San Diego Counties, Riverside County news can get lost in the shuffle. While we are proud to have a number of great suburban communities in our county, Riverside is more than a spillover for LA or San Diego. In fact, if you follow Riverside County news updates, you see that Riverside County is its own vibrant entity.
Spirit of Innovation, a magazine-style television show, is dedicated to bringing Riverside County residents impactful, local news coverage that is timely and relevant. The show provides innovative news segments with influential community leaders to give county and city updates, as well as good-to-know community happenings and current need-to-know Riverside County information. Our goal is to connect you to the community in new and exciting ways.
Spirit of Innovation is produced by a unique crew of industry professionals which include adults with developmental disabilities enrolled in the video-production training program. This broadcast television production, along with its affiliated job-training program, is the first of its kind. It is the only TV program covering local regional county news and information exclusively, while providing career pathways, job training skills, and opportunities to a population that is often overlooked and for an industry hard to break into.
JDS Creative Academy (JDSCA) is itself an innovation. We provide the opportunity to gain creative enrichment, self-confidence, leadership, and collaborative skills needed to advance to higher arts education and obtain the expertise needed to prosper in a competitive high-tech marketplace.
Spirit of Innovation can be viewed on Murrieta and Temecula’s community access stations, Rivco TV, Youtube, and here on the website.
